Georgian Finance Minister highlights ADB’s willingness to expand funding for public, private sector projects

Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili on Monday said the Asian Development Bank had expressed readiness to continue and further expand its funding for both public and private sector projects in the country.
In his remarks following a meeting with Masato Kanda, the President of the Asian Development Bank, Khutsishvili noted that the discussions covered all projects currently being implemented in Georgia with ADB funding.
The Minister further highlighted that the ADB President emphasised the favourable economic environment in Georgia, the country’s strong economic growth, and macroeconomic stability - key components in attracting funding.
“Georgia has a very important partnership with the Asian Development Bank. The Bank holds a portfolio of approximately USD 5.1 billion in the country, and future plans are ambitious in terms of increasing investment, supporting job creation - one of ADB’s top priorities not only in Georgia but across the region”, Khutsishvili concluded.
