Georgian, Azerbaijani PMs discuss close cooperation, strategic partnership

The main directions envisaged by the Georgia-Azerbaijan strategic partnership and the issues to be discussed within the framework of the 10th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation were discussed on Friday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ali Asadov.
The meeting focused on the positive dynamics of the development of close cooperation between the two countries in various fields, the Government Administration said.
Asadov congratulated Kobakhidze on the ruling Georgian Dream party’s victory in the parliamentary elections held last October, as well as on his election for the position of the Prime Minister.
Azerbaijani Government head further noted that results of the parliamentary elections in Georgia had once again demonstrated the will of the Georgian people.
The officials also highlighted the importance of stability and peace in the South Caucasus region.
Kobakhidze confirmed his Government’s readiness to promote trilateral dialogue and development of regional cooperation.
