Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament, on Wednesday held a meeting with visiting Slovak Member of the European Parliament Branislav Ondruš.
The officials discussed Georgia’s internal political situation, Georgia-EU relations, the country’s path toward EU integration, and the current challenges on that path.
The meeting also focused on recent resolutions adopted by the European Parliament, noting that these resolutions were unjust and were not accurately reflecting the reality in Georgia
Ondruš noted that the European Parliament and the European Commission should begin a “rational dialogue” with the Georgian Government.
The parties further reviewed the security matters, including the difficult situation in the Russian-occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions, as well as the potential threats posed to Georgia by the ongoing war in Ukraine.
