Warren Davidson, the United States Congressman, on Monday said the MEGOBARI Act was a wrong-headed bill, and his colleagues should reject it.
In his remarks, Davidson noted that the United States did not need to look for additional conflicts.
“The MEGOBARI Act is a wrong-headed bill, and our colleagues should reject it. The American people did not send us here to extend America’s security shield to more parts of the world. We are not obligated to engage in every conflict we are invited into, and we certainly do not need to seek out additional conflicts”, Davidson said.
Davidson further added that the United States could wish the Georgian people success without expanding the commitment to being a defence force for Europe.
“I think my constituents are wondering why we're doing this instead of what we campaigned on. I hope we'll focus on an America First Foreign Policy. I oppose [this bill] and I urge everyone to do the same”, he concluded.
