“A champion in every sense”: Georgian PM endorses Kakha Kaladze for Tbilisi Mayor

The ruling Georgian Dream party on Thursday officially launched its election campaign, with the party Chair and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze presenting Kakha Kaladze as their candidate for Tbilisi Mayor. In his speech, Kobakhidze hailed Kaladze not merely as a good politician, administrator, or patriot, but as a “true champion in every sense of the word”.

Kobakhidze emphasised Kaladze’s track record, stating that he had “gifted Georgia with the highest-ranking victories”.

He asserted that Kaladze possesses the ability to further develop, arrange, and beautify every corner of Tbilisi, fulfilling the needs of its residents.

“Our candidate is a person who has gifted Georgia with the highest-ranking victories. Our candidate is a champion politician, administrator, and patriot. He is a champion family man. He is a champion friend and a champion comrade-in-arms”, the PM said.

The Prime Minister outlined the party’s vision for the capital under Kaladze’s leadership.

“More life for Tbilisi, more life for every district of Tbilisi, development for every corner of the capital, a more beautiful, greener, and more organized city - this is what our beloved capital and every Tbilisi resident needs most, and this is what Kakha Kaladze can do best”, he continued.

Kobakhidze concluded by expressing his honour in presenting Kaladze, whom he described as “a person any European capital would wish for as mayor”, lauding him as “our team's outstanding leader, Tbilisi's most successful mayor of all time”.
