Georgian PM claims “Global War Party” seeks to erase European identity

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday accused the Global War Party, referred to by Americans as the deep state, of seeking to erode Europe’s identity, including personal identities, through aggressive propaganda.

In his remarks, Kobakhidze claimed that this agenda was supported by Eurocracy and threatened Georgia’s societal values.

“You have seen throughout this period how the radical opposition and NGOs have tried to ridicule the issue of the law on Family Values and Protection of Minors. They claim that there are supposedly no risks or problems, but you can see the trends across Europe – same-sex marriage, same-sex civil partnerships, the ease of changing gender records in passports, the adoption of minors by same-sex couples, and so on. There is a catastrophic situation across Europe in all these areas. Almost no EU member state remains where these measures have not already been implemented. This is all happening under the insistent demands of the European bureaucracy. This indicates that there is a specific agenda for what we call the Global War Party, and what Americans call the deep state. This force wants to completely strip Europe of its identity, including depriving Europeans of their personal identity”, the PM said.

He further cited what he called alarming statistics, stating that the number of same-sex couples and individuals with a “corresponding orientation” has exceeded 20 percent among the younger generation.

“The statistics are alarming. Amongst the younger generation, the number of same-sex couples and people with such orientations has already exceeded 20 percent. This is the result of propaganda - constant, persistent propaganda”, he continued.

Kobakhidze vowed to protect Georgian society from such influences.

“We are protecting Georgian society from this propaganda. What the Swedish Prime Minister said is an expression of the fact that this propaganda is, unfortunately, fully supported by today’s European bureaucracy. This means that representatives of the European bureaucracy either cannot or do not protect their own societies, depending on the case, and they want to impose all of this on Georgia as well. This all indicates that the risks and problems are serious, that propaganda has its own power, and therefore we must confront it”, the PM concluded.
