Ruling party official proposes comprehensive Georgia-US roadmap covering ‘every step’

Levan Machavariani, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and Deputy Chair of the parliamentary faction of the ruling party, on Tuesday said Georgia was ready to create a step-by-step roadmap with the United States to ensure that the interests of both countries were fully taken into account.
Machavariani commented on President Mikheil Kavelashvili’s letter addressed to US President Donald Trump. In an open letter, Kavelashvili called for a reboot in relations and stressed that the Trump administration has not paid sufficient attention to Georgia.
In his remarks, Machavariani expressed hope that the United States would make specific decisions regarding Georgia.
“We would like to see faster, specific decisions [in the US] regarding Georgia. As they say, we have put everything on the table. We have even offered to prepare a roadmap, where every step that both our side and the American side need to take would be laid out in detail - across time and space - so that the interests of both countries are properly reflected”, he said.
