Bidzina Ivanishvili congratulates Georgian mixed judo team on winning 2025 World Team Judo Championships

Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and Honorary Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Friday extended congratulations to Georgia’s mixed judo team for winning the 2025 World Team Judo Championships in Hungary.
In a social media post shared by the ruling Georgian Dream party, Ivanishvili praised the athletes’ dedication, professionalism, and patriotism, highlighting the significance of Georgia’s first-ever mixed team world title in judo.
“Congratulations on this tremendous victory - the Georgian judo team is the world champion! This historic result is the outcome of tireless work, high professionalism, and love for the country. I want to express my gratitude to each member of the national team who gave their all and raised our country’s flag higher than any other at the World Championships. This victory is even more significant by the fact that Georgia’s men’s and women’s judo teams have never before jointly won the world championship. Once again, I congratulate the national team and all of Georgia on this historic victory”, Ivanishvili said.
At the 2025 World Team Judo Championships in Hungary, Georgia’s mixed men’s and women’s team clinched the gold medal with a dominant 4:1 victory over South Korea in the final. The triumph marks a historic first for Georgia in the team competition format.
