Georgia’s ruling party official thanks voters for supporting country’s peaceful, pragmatic development

Irakli Kirtskhalia, the Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party faction in the legislative body, on Monday expressed gratitude to the Georgian public for what he described as a “wise, national decision” made during the recent local self-government elections.

In his remarks, Kirtskhalia highlighted the importance of the public’s continued support for the country’s peaceful and pragmatic development path.

“I would like to once again thank our public for the wise, national decision it has made for the tenth, jubilee time - once again supporting the peaceful and pragmatic development of our country. The people of Georgia have stood by the sovereignty of the state, its genuine independence, and the peaceful path - whether it concerns territorial integrity or the management of our country’s foreign policy course”, Kirtskhalia said.

He further noted that it was an unprecedented achievement for the results of the parliamentary elections to be reaffirmed in local self-government elections held a year later.

“This is very important and once again many thanks [to voters]. I congratulate Georgia on choosing a path that is being fiercely opposed by certain forces from abroad - and, unfortunately, by some within our country as well”, he concluded.
