Ukrainian Education Minister thanks Georgian counterpart for “unwavering support”

Ukrainian Minister of Education and Science Andrii Butenko on Monday thanked his Georgian counterpart Givi Mikanadze for his “unwavering support” and cooperation during what he described as the most difficult period in Ukraine’s history.
Butenko addressed Mikanadze in an official letter, expressing gratitude for Georgia’s assistance in providing Ukrainian applicants with a safe environment to take entrance examinations for Ukrainian higher education institutions.
According to Butenko, this year Ukrainian applicants who were forced to leave the country because of the war were able to take entrance examinations for Ukrainian universities in 32 countries around the world.
“The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Center for Education Quality Assessment express our deepest respect and sincere gratitude to you for your unwavering support and cooperation with our country during this most difficult period in our history”, Butenko said.
“At a time when Ukraine is fighting for its freedom and independence, our unity with the civilized world is our greatest strength. This year, Ukrainian applicants who were forced to leave Ukraine because of the war were given the opportunity to take the examinations required for admission to Ukrainian higher education institutions in 32 countries around the world”, he noted.
The Ukrainian Minister expressed deepest gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and the educational institutions that provided Ukrainian applicants with a safe examination environment.
“We would like to extend our special thanks to you for your comprehensive support - for providing the necessary technical equipment for the examination facilities and creating all the conditions required to organize and conduct examinations for admission to bachelor’s and master’s programs at Ukrainian higher education institutions”, Butenko said.
“Thanks to your effective and excellently organized examination process, Ukrainian young people were given the opportunity to continue their education and enroll in higher education institutions in Ukraine. Your solidarity is more than organizational assistance - it is an important contribution to preserving Ukraine’s intellectual potential and to the country’s future recovery. We particularly value our reliable partnership and sincerely wish you and all representatives of the education sector in your country professional advancement, goodness, prosperity and happiness”, he continued.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to the leadership of all educational organizations that provided comprehensive assistance in conducting the 2026 entrance examinations and expressed their readiness to establish temporary examination centers”, the Minister said.
He also thanked the teachers, coordinators and IT specialists with whom had the honor of working.
“Together we are stronger! Thank you for your solidarity and reliable support.We believe that fruitful cooperation will continue in the future, as will comprehensive support for our country from the Government of Georgia”, the official letter said.
