Georgian FM expresses Gov’t’s unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity

Georgian foreign minister Maka Botchorishvili on Monday expressed the Government's unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
During her speech at the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Botchorishvili emphasized the need to uphold the international order based on the UN Charter as well as to hold accountable those who violated international law.
“Dear colleagues, tomorrow marks four years since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which has caused immense suffering, displacement and destruction. Georgia reaffirms its unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and underlines the need to uphold the international order based on the UN Charter and to hold accountable those who violate international law”, the FM said.
In the context of the Council’s approaching twentieth anniversary, she further reaffirmed the Georgian Government's unwavering support for the principle of the universality of human rights.
“We will continue to strengthen democratic governance at home and support common efforts to protect human dignity around the world”, Botchorishvili concluded.
