Georgian PM criticises European bureaucracy over ‘new standard of lies’

Irakli Kobakhidze

Irakli Kobakhidze

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said the European bureaucracy had established “an entirely new standard of falsehood”, describing the recent OSCE Parliamentary Assembly resolution on Georgia as another example of that trend.

Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze argued that the resolution failed to meet what he called traditional European standards.

“The European bureaucracy has established an entirely new standard of falsehood, which is deeply regrettable. The latest OSCE resolution is yet another manifestation of the standard set by the European bureaucracy”, he said.

“This document does not meet traditional European standards in any respect. These problems ultimately create a wide range of challenges across Europe, including in terms of identity - you are aware of the serious trends affecting the preservation of European identity - as well as in the economic sphere. Europe is facing very serious trends, and these negative developments are the result of misguided approaches, including injustice and double standards”, Kobakhidze concluded.
