Giorgi Gabunia, the Chair of the Culture Committee of the Georgian Parliament, on Thursday said the ongoing visit of Alain Berset, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, was “very important” for the country.
In his remarks, Gabunia noted that Berset’s role and involvement would be “positive” and “productive” amid the latest political developments in the country.
“As for the [political] process returning to a constructive framework, I can personally tell you that Georgia has a multi-party Parliament. The Georgian Parliament has already started its work”, the Parliament official said.
“We have a specific agenda, and it is important for the opposition and its representatives to properly understand the situation. It largely depends on them that the political situation in Georgia stabilises and returns to normal”, he concluded.
