The Investigation Service of the Georgian Finance Ministry on Thursday said investigative activities had been conducted in three so-called “call centres”.
“In accordance with the operational information received in connection with the criminal case, being under investigation by the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, investigative activities were conducted in three alleged so-called "call centres" and based on the judge's ruling, the specified facilities were searched.
According to the information received, the activities of the call centres are related to the same type of crime as the crime being investigated and we are dealing with finance on a much larger scale. In addition, some of the individuals working at the facilities are associated with similar criminal call centres identified in previous periods.
The representatives of the Investigation Service, who arrived at the scene, discovered various types of equipment, devices and documentation containing certain electronic information, which were seized in line with the procedures.
Considering the high interest of the public, the Investigation Service will periodically provide the public with information about the progress and results of the investigation”, the Service said.
