UNESCO Director General meets Georgian Education Minister, says organisation looks forward to deepening cooperation with Georgia

UNESCO Director General Khaled El-Enany on Saturday expressed satisfaction with his meeting with Georgian Minister of Education Givi Mikanadze, announcing that the organisation looks forward to further deepening cooperation in digital transformation, green education, science, and culture to equip students and young people with future-ready skills.

In a social media message, Khaled El-Enany summarised the discussions held with the Georgian minister, highlighting key areas of collaboration aimed at improving Georgia’s education system.

“I am glad that I met with Georgia’s Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze. At the meeting, we discussed issues of improving education funding, infrastructure development, strengthening the link between education and employment, higher education reform, and creating new opportunities for young people”, he said.

“UNESCO is looking forward to further deepening cooperation with Georgia in the directions of digital transformation, green education, science, and culture, so that students, university students, and young people acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for the future,” Khaled El-Enany concluded.
