Georgian PM dismisses opposition’s “overthrow threats” as futile

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday downplayed the opposition’s repeated calls for revolution, describing their efforts as ineffective and their current position as weaker than ever.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze criticised the opposition’s rhetoric about peaceful or non-peaceful overthrows as contradictory and doomed to failure.
“Since 2016, these people have been incessantly talking about peaceful or sometimes non-peaceful revolutions, overthrow, and so on. A peaceful overthrow is a kind of oxymoron, as it contains an inherent contradiction”, the PM said.
“Their plans and assignments are of this nature, but as you can see, since 2016, they have not once been able to implement their plans, and now they are even weaker. Therefore, all of this is like swinging empty fists after the fight, which does not reflect positively on them once again”, Kobakhidze concluded.
