Georgian Parliament official says opposition UNM party will do everything to make revolution reality

Nino Tsilosani, an MP for the ruling Georgian Dream party and Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, on Monday said the opposition United National Movement party would do everything to make the revolution a reality in the country.

In her interview with Imed TV, Tsilosani noted that calling for overthrowing constitutional order was a crime as well as an attack on the state and a provocation, to which the state, on the one hand, and public, on the other hand, must respond.

“In our Constitution, in the Criminal Code, it is quite clearly stated everywhere what a crime is - overthrowing the constitutional order, or calling for its overthrow, is a crime, therefore these people are playing with fire. Just as Mzia Amaglobeli provocatively and demonstratively tried to slap the state in the form of that police officer, in this case too, their calls are a certain attack on the state, and this provocation implies that if they get away with it, they will seek to do so on October 4”, Tsilosani said.

“Their [UNM] violent essence does not change, and all those people who now represent this party and serve [the United National Movement party’s] goals will certainly do everything to make the revolution a reality. They should think carefully, because when it comes to an illegal call, the state will be forced to act accordingly”, she concluded.
