Georgian PM claims domestic opposition focused on day after election, not on day of election

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday claimed the domestic opposition was focused on the day after the election, not the day of the election.

In his interview with Adjara TV, Kobakhidze noted that the opposition had no resources to stage a revolution in the country following the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 26.

“They are more focused on the day after the election rather than on the day of the election. They don't go to villages, they don't conduct campaigns, they don't go to the districts of the cities. Actually their campaign is not visible. The only one [political party], which is currently conducting an election campaign is the Georgian Dream party”, the PM said.

“This also shows that their main focus is the day after the election, not the day of the election, although they have no resources here, the state is strong, law enforcement bodies are strong, and any attempt to invade the Parliament, invade other institutions, stage a revolution, will be confronted with the strength of the state”, he concluded.
