Opposition Lelo party faces further exodus as another candidate resigns over violent rhetoric on local elections day

Domenti Korkia, a majoritarian candidate for the opposition Lelo party in the local self-government elections, on Saturday left the party, citing his opposition to the radical opposition's advocacy for violently overthrowing the Government, marking the third such departure in recent days.
In a social media message, Korkia, who was running as a majoritarian candidate for the village of Gezati in Abasha Municipality under the Lelo party's banner, declared his immediate departure from the party.
“I, Domenti Korkia, a majoritarian candidate for the village of Gezati in Abasha Municipality from the political party Lelo, distance myself from the radical opposition’s calls regarding plans to violently change the Government, which the party I represent also supports. Given the current situation, I can no longer see myself within the ranks of Lelo and have decided to leave the party”, Korkia said.
Levan Revazishvili and Davit Nadirashvili have also announced their departure from the Lelo party for similar reasons.
