Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday said the ruling Georgian Dream party promised everyone to win by a large margin in the local self-governmental elections, but the outcome even exceeded that promise.
In his address, Kobakhidze noted that the Georgian Dream needed such a convincing victory for the country to develop irreversibly and stably.
“Congratulations! I want to congratulate everyone and thank you all. Of course, without our unity, such an impressive victory would not have been possible. We promised everyone we would win by a large margin, but I believe we have even overdelivered on that promise, and that is very good - because such a convincing victory is exactly what the country needs to develop irreversibly and stably”, the PM said.
He congratulated all the candidates of the Georgian Dream on their victory in the local self-government elections, especially Kakha Kaladze, who won for the third time.
“I want to congratulate all candidates, especially our main candidate for the local elections, Kakha Kaladze, who has achieved a remarkable victory for the third time. This is a result of the countless works and contributions Kakha Kaladze has accomplished. I also want to congratulate each newly elected mayor and I am confident that under their leadership, every municipality will progress and develop rapidly. I also congratulate every member of the City Council”, the PM added.
As the Government head noted today's victory, as well as the peace, progress, and development in the country, were thanks to Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and Honorary Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party.
“I especially want to thank the members of our headquarters, the leadership, and the heads of the local headquarters. Tireless work has yielded these results. Most importantly, thanks to Bidzina Ivanishvili, because everything our country has today - peace, progress, development - is thanks to him. Today’s victory is, of course, also Mr. Ivanishvili’s victory, and I thank him once again for everything”, he concluded.
