Council of Europe Sec Gen arrives in Georgia

Alain Berset, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, on Tuesday arrived in Georgia for an official visit.

Lasha Darsalia, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed Berset at the Tbilisi International Airport.

In the framework of the visit, Berset will hold meetings with the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, the President-elect Mikheil Kavelashvili and the Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.

Berset will also visit a village adjacent to the administrative line separating central Georgia’s Russian-occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region from the rest of the country.
