Georgian Parliament official calls for answers over questions surrounding OSCE/ODIHR credibility

Levan Makhashvili, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Committee on European Integration, on Wednesday accused the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) of avoiding responsibility regarding questions surrounding the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s resolution on Georgia.
Makhashvili’s response came after the OSCE Secretariat referred Imedi TV’s questions about the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's resolution on Georgia to the Assembly itself, instead of responding directly.
“This is an attempt to evade an answer. Does one hand not know what the other is doing? They certainly knew what was happening when the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was distorting the OSCE/ODIHR conclusion. This is an effort to avoid responsibility. They themselves have raised many legitimate questions regarding the credibility of the OSCE/ODIHR. These questions require comprehensive answers”, Makhashvili said.
Imedi TV had sent inquiries to both the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the OSCE headquarters, asking whether the Parliamentary Assembly intends to review the disputed provisions of the resolution that were highlighted by the Prime Minister of Georgia during a recent briefing.
The broadcaster also asked whether the OSCE plans to examine the actions of its Parliamentary Assembly in relation to Georgia. In response, the OSCE headquarters said that such questions should be directed to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
