Georgian PM: calls for “second front” came directly from top Ukrainian officials

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday said that senior Ukrainian officials had openly demanded that Georgia open a “second front” in the war with Russia, “confirmed once again by the statement of Poland’s former President”.
Kobakhidze’s remarks came after Andrzej Duda, the former Polish President, on Wednesday said that Ukraine had sought to drag Poland into the conflict with Russia, adding that “from the very beginning they tried to involve everyone in the war, that is obvious”.
“We all remember how high-ranking Ukrainian officials came out and openly demanded that Georgia open a second front. These were top officials - the Secretary of the National Security Council, the President’s chief adviser, members of Parliament, and others. They directly called on Georgia to open a second front”, the PM said.
He further added that when Georgia refused to enter the war, Kyiv responded by recalling its Ambassador from Georgia.
“What the Ukrainian authorities demanded is crystal clear, and this is additionally confirmed by the statement of the former President of Poland. With regard to Georgia, everything is obvious - we heard direct, open statements from Ukrainian officials demanding the opening of a second front”, the Government head concluded.
