Georgian PM highlights visit to UAE as “very productive”

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday described his official visit to the United Arab Emirates as “very interesting and productive”, emphasising that it would generate concrete benefits for the country.

In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted that meetings were held with representatives of some of the world’s largest and most renowned companies, all of which have investment interests.

“It can confidently be said that the visit was very productive. We had meetings with representatives of several companies - these are world-famous, major corporations with investment interests. As you know, the Eagle Hills investment is already underway in Georgia. We also met with DAMAC, another globally renowned company. We discussed deepening cooperation across various sectors”, he said.

“A very interesting meeting also took place with Abu Dhabi Ports, which already has an ongoing project in our country - the dry port project in Tbilisi, whose second phase has begun. We discussed further deepening cooperation with this company in other areas as well”, he continued.

The Prime Minister also noted that he met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, who expressed full support for deepening bilateral cooperation, both at the governmental level and within the business sector.

“We also had a meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates, who expressed full support for all directions of cooperation. Naturally, our main goal in this regard is to develop bilateral relations between the countries, between governments, and also with representatives of the business sector. The President’s personal support in this regard is very important”, he said.

Kobakhidze highlighted Georgia’s presentation at the central event of the summit, where the country’s plans in energy and connectivity were showcased.

“Additionally, we gave a speech at the central event of this summit, where we mainly discussed our country’s plans in the fields of energy and connectivity. Overall, I can say that it was a very interesting and productive visit, which will yield concrete results for our country in the future”, he concluded.
