Tbilisi ranks third in Expedia's list of top trending destinations for 2025

The American global travel platform Expedia has released its booking statistics for the most sought-after travel destinations in 2025, placing Georgia’s capital Tbilisi third on the list.
The data covers the period from December 2024 to March 2025 and is based on a comparison with the same timeframe the previous year. According to Expedia, advance bookings for Tbilisi increased by an impressive 145% during this period.
“Travelers to Georgia's capital are immersed in culture, nightlife, and entertainment”, says the Time Out, a British travel media platform, based on Expedia’s statistical data.
Switzerland emerged as another popular destination, with Basel and Zurich taking the second spot. Basel experienced an impressive 185% surge in bookings, while Zurich saw an even more significant increase of 225%.
Topping Expedia's list of trending destinations is the Swedish city of Gothenburg, which recorded a 135% rise in advance bookings.
