The National Tourism Administration on Monday reported that Georgia’s tourism sector was experiencing an unprecedented boom, with international travel receipts reaching a record-breaking $1.971 billion in the first half of 2025. This marks a significant 3.8% increase compared to the same period last year.
The robust growth highlights the sector's strong recovery and expansion. Revenue generated from tourism in the first two quarters of 2025 has already surpassed pre-pandemic levels, exceeding the analogous period in 2019 by an impressive 35.4%.
The positive trend continued into the second quarter of 2025, with international travel receipts growing by 5.0% year-on-year to reach a record $1.145 billion. This strong performance underscores the sustained appeal of Georgia as a travel destination.
Several key markets contributed significantly to this substantial growth in tourism revenue between January and June:
- Israel: + $66.4 million (+37.9 percent), totaling $241.9 million
- EU and UK: + $30.7 million (+12.5 percent), totaling $277.0 million
- Azerbaijan: + $24.1 million (+30.7 percent), totaling $102.6 million
- Saudi Arabia: +$ 6.2 million (+18.9 percent), totaling $38.8 million
- Armenia: + $1.8 million (+2.8 percent), totaling $66.0 million
