Georgian FM: peace and security in South Caucasus region vital for Middle Corridor

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Sunday said peace and security in the South Caucasus region were essential not only for the region’s stability but also for connectivity and the development of the Middle Corridor.
In an interview with Imedi TV, Botchorishvili stressed the strategic importance of regional peace from both a security and economic perspective.
“Peace and security in the South Caucasus are, of course, extremely important not only in the context of the security of our countries and our region, but also in terms of connectivity and the development of the Middle Corridor. However, first and foremost, based on our national interests, the security of our country is the starting point of all our policies, whether domestic or foreign”, she concluded.
