Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said the Army Camp 2026 programme gave young people an opportunity to experience and share the sense of pride felt by military personnel serving their country.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of Army Camp 2026, Kobakhidze welcomed the continuation of what he described as a valuable tradition, noting that the programme is being held for the fourth consecutive year.
“I am pleased that this very valuable and important tradition continues. For the fourth year in a row, Army Camp is giving young people the opportunity to share the pride that every servicemember feels while serving the homeland”, he said.
Kobakhidze noted that the programme will host a total of 1 700 students at facilities in Kojori and the Sachkhere Mountain Training School.
“I am confident that these days will be interesting, enjoyable and ultimately unforgettable for you. In total, Army Camp will host 1,700 students both in Kojori and at the Sachkhere Mountain Training School. Each of you will have the opportunity to see firsthand what a soldier’s life is like and what values military personnel embrace”, he continued.
The Prime Minister also highlighted that this year the programme includes, for the first time, a Patriarchate Hour component, where participants will have the opportunity to discuss Georgia’s national and spiritual values.
Kobakhidze thanked the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Education, the Youth Agency and the instructors involved in its implementation.
“I wish all of you success and many interesting days at the Army Camp”, he concluded.
