Georgian PM: Georgia plans to invest $7 billion in transport infrastructure by 2032

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze emphasised that Georgia planned to invest $7 billion by 2032 in major transport infrastructure projects to support and further advance its connectivity agenda.
In his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, Kobakhidze noted that the investment would focus on modernising the railway, developing the Anaklia Deep Sea Port, building a new international airport in Tbilisi and expanding the country’s highway network.
“Georgia viewed physical and digital connectivity as two parts of the same strategic agenda. Through a Black Sea submarine fiber-optic connection and next-generation data infrastructure, Georgia aims to strengthen secure, resilient and diversified digital links between Europe and Asia”, Kobakhidze said.
