Georgian President to attend Khamenei funeral alongside leaders from Turkey, Azerbaijan and Armenia

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili will travel to Iran to participate in the funeral ceremonies of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the former Supreme Leader of Iran, joining leaders from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and other regional countries.

The mourning events will be held in Tehran, Qom, and Mashhad, with the burial taking place in Mashhad.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed on February 28 when an Israeli bomb struck the house where he was located.

Along with the Supreme Leader, his daughter, son-in-law, grandchild, and one of his daughters-in-law were also killed in the strike.
