Georgian Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili on Monday highlighted a number of important bilateral, high-level meetings held during the Georgian delegation’s visit to Kazakhstan.
In her remarks, Kvrivishvili noted that the parties discussed prospects for deepening trade and economic ties between the two countries.
“We discussed investment opportunities in the energy sector, as well as other areas that will further strengthen trade and economic relations between the two countries. It is important that we signed several agreements during the visit, aimed at deepening cooperation in the tourism and information technology sectors”, she said.
As Kvrivishvili added, Kazakhstan is an exceptionally fast-growing source market for Georgia, with tourist flows increasing every year.
She further noted that direct flights between the two countries, operating from all three international airports in Georgia, are also showing increasing dynamics.
“Following the growing number of direct flights, we see that tourist flows are increasing every year, which, of course, has a positive impact on our country’s economy and tourism sector, and contributes to strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises operating in this field”, she concluded.
