Georgian FM: Georgian PM’s visit to Singapore key opportunity to deepen political, economic cooperation

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Tuesday said that Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s visit to Singapore will be a significant opportunity to strengthen both political and economic cooperation between the two countries.
In her remarks, Botchorishvili noted that Singapore offers valuable experience in economic development, reforms, and logistics, from which Georgia can learn a great deal.
“The Prime Minister’s visit to Singapore is very important. Singapore is a country that has a great deal in common with Georgia, from economic development to its experience as a logistics hub. We can learn a great deal from Singapore, both in terms of economic development and economic reforms, as well as the development of a logistics hub”, Botchorishvili said.
She highlighted the growing importance of both countries in the current global context and the potential for expanding business, financial, and economic ties.
“Business and economic cooperation is an interesting area. Against the backdrop of ongoing developments in the world today, the importance of Singapore - and, in this case, Georgia as well - has increased. From this perspective, high-level meetings in the region will, of course, help us develop our relations even further. Relations with Singapore are interesting in many areas, including the financial, economic, and logistics sectors”, she noted.
The Foreign Minister expressed confidence that high-level meetings will help further develop relations and better utilise existing opportunities in the region.
“The Prime Minister’s meetings with Singaporean leaders will be a good opportunity to discuss both political cooperation and economic cooperation with Singapore. We will further deepen our partnership and make better use of the opportunities that exist in our relations with the country and the region”, Botchorishvili concluded.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday embarked on a working visit to Singapore, where he is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with the country's leadership and representatives of the financial technology sector.
