Germany schedules credentials ceremony for Georgian Ambassador, removes page identifying Salome Zourabichvili as President

The Office of the President of Germany on Tuesday scheduled the official credentials ceremony for Georgian Ambassador Aleksandre Kartozia on July 23, while the German Federal Foreign Office has simultaneously removed from its website the page referring to Salome Zourabichvili as Georgia’s President.
Among the diplomats scheduled to participate, Aleksandre Kartozia, Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Germany, is listed first and is expected to formally present his credentials to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
At the same time, attention has been drawn to a development on the official website of Germany’s Federal Foreign Office.
The page that previously identified Salome Zourabichvili as the incumbent President of Georgia has been removed, and no official information about her in that capacity is currently available on the ministry’s website.
