Georgian PM says country will become member of EU with “dignity” as independent, sovereign state by 2030

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday said the country would become a member of the European Union with “dignity” as an independent and sovereign state by 2030.
In his open letter to the young people amid the protest rallies against the domestic bill on transparency, Kobakhidze noted that the Georgian Government would act at the behest of over 60 percent of Georgian voters, who “strongly and thoughtfully support the transparency of NGOs and, accordingly, the peaceful future of Georgia”.
“I promise, the Georgian state will take care of all sincere young people, including those who are misled today and do not realise how much trouble the majority of the Georgian people and the Government elected by them have avoided”, Kobakhidze said.
