Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić on Thursday announced that Serbia will soon open an embassy in Tbilisi, which he said will become a real platform for launching numerous business initiatives and for deepening political cooperation.

Vučić made the statement at a joint press conference with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili following their meeting.

According to the Serbian President, all key issues were discussed during the talks.

“We have given concrete form to everything we have felt toward each other over the past period. We have established direct flights and launched direct air connections between Tbilisi and Belgrade. This is the result of economic and other forms of cooperation, and I am proud of that”, Vučić said.

He emphasised that the opening of the embassy in Tbilisi will further strengthen bilateral ties.

“The embassy will be a real place where many business initiatives will begin and, of course, an opportunity to deepen political cooperation”, he noted.

Vučić added that the leaders discussed a wide range of topics, including the global political and geopolitical situation, developments in the Caucasus region, the Western Balkans, and Southeast Europe.

“We discussed all important issues and understood each other very well”, the Serbian President concluded.
