Irakli Mezurnishvili, the First Deputy Chair of the Committee on Sectoral Economy and Economic Policy, on Friday praised Hungary for safeguarding Georgia’s interests during parliamentary meetings and negotiations, highlighting strong bilateral cooperation.
In his remarks, Mezurnishvili underscored that meetings with Hungary’s Health and Education Committees were highly constructive.
“We held meetings with our colleagues from the Health Committee and the Education Committee. I personally had a very interesting meeting with my colleague, who is the head of the Georgian-Hungarian Friendship Group”, he said.
The official also noted that Hungary consistently prioritised peace and protected Georgia’s interests in all critical discussions and negotiations.
“As you know, Hungary, like Georgia, is a country that primarily emphasises peace. In all negotiations and key meetings, Hungary directly protects our country’s interests. This is very important, and we thanked our colleagues for it. I am confident that this will continue in the future”, he concluded.
The visit of the Georgian parliamentary delegation to Hungary has concluded. During the visit, delegation members held a series of meetings with Hungarian counterparts, including discussions with the heads of various parliamentary committees. At the end of the day, the delegation was hosted by the Vice Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects in the fields of education and healthcare.
