German Ambassador declines to comment on foreign office’s outdated Georgia leadership info

Peter Fischer, the German ambassador to Georgia, on Thursday declined to provide specific answers regarding the failure of the German foreign office to update official information about Georgia's leadership on its website.
While visiting the April 9 Memorial to pay his respects, ambassador Fischer was questioned by journalists concerning the diplomatic note sent by Tbilisi to Berlin. Instead of addressing the discrepancy, the ambassador limited his response to general remarks.
The controversy centers on the German federal foreign office's official website, which continues to display outdated information regarding Georgia’s leadership. Despite significant political shifts and official notifications, Salome Zourabichvili is still listed as the president of Georgia and Ilia Darchiashvili as the minister of foreign affairs.
Georgian authorities have already dispatched an official diplomatic note to the German foreign ministry requesting an immediate update to reflect the current administration.
Observers have noted a perceived inconsistency, pointing out that Germany has updated data for other nations, including Russia and Syria, while Georgia’s profile remains stagnant.
