Sulkhan Tamazashvili appointed Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia

Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday announced that Sulkhan Tamazashvili would assume the position of minister of internal affairs of Georgia.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze expressed gratitude to Tamazashvili for his tenure as head of Adjara’s government, noting significant improvements in governance across many areas, the implementation of important changes, and the launch of numerous new projects.
“Sulkhan Tamazashvili will take the position of minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia. I would like to thank him for his successful work as the chair of the government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara. Governance issues were significantly improved in many areas within Adjara, numerous changes were implemented, and many new projects were launched under his leadership. I would like to thank him for all of this”, he said.
The prime minister emphasised that Tamazashvili was well familiar with the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, describing him as an experienced figure within the institution.
“He is very well known within the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and is an experienced representative of this system. I wish him success in his new role as minister of Internal Affairs”, he noted.
He also noted that a new candidate for the leadership of Adjara’s regional government would be announced soon, following consultations with the president of Georgia and the Supreme Council of Adjara.
“A candidate for the chair of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara will be named in the coming days, following consultations with the president of Georgia and the Supreme Council of Adjara”, Kobakhidze concluded.
