PM Kobakhidze highlights Georgia’s connectivity role at European Political Community Summit

Within the framework of the 8th Summit of the European Political Community, Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday participated in a high-level roundtable discussion titled Enhancing Connectivity and Economic Security.

During his address, Kobakhidze highlighted Georgia’s pivotal role in ensuring international connectivity, detailing the large-scale infrastructure projects currently being implemented by the Georgian government to bolster this function, specifically the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, the development of modern highways, and the Anaklia deep sea port.

He also emphasised the importance of diversifying transport and energy routes, underlining the strategic significance of initiatives such as the Southern Gas Corridor and the Black Sea Submarine Cable.

Kobakhidze reaffirmed Georgia’s readiness to continue close cooperation with international partners, noting that strong connectivity is one of the key prerequisites for long-term stability.
