Georgian Parliament Speaker: Georgia committed to deepening cooperation between Black Sea, Mediterranean and Gulf regions

Speaking at the first-ever Summit of Speakers of Parliaments of the member and partner countries of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Thursday emphasised the vital role of trust and parliamentary diplomacy in navigating global instability.
In his address, Papuashvili highlighted that maintaining open communication channels is essential, even when political positions diverge.
“Trust is essential for strengthening resilience. Therefore, as parliamentarians, we must continue an open dialogue even when our positions differ. I would proudly note that in this turbulent period, the South Caucasus countries - Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan - are demonstrating unique wisdom and vision for the future, creating hope for peace, cooperation, and development”, the speaker said.
Papuashvili reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to strengthening cooperation between the Black Sea, Mediterranean, and Gulf regions.
“Georgia remains committed to deepening cooperation among the Black Sea, Mediterranean, and Gulf regions. We believe that through joint efforts, especially within regional platforms such as PABSEC and PAM, we will be able to achieve tangible results for our citizens and shape a more stable and prosperous future for our regions”, he concluded.
