The Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development on Friday said economic growth in 2025 was set at 7.5 percent, while in December, the growth amounted to 7.2 percent.

The Ministry emphasised that the positive trends and high economic growth observed in the Georgian economy was clearly indicating that the Georgian economy maintained its sustainability.

In December 2025, the turnover of VAT-paying enterprises increased by 11.0 percent compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, and the number of newly registered enterprises amounted to 6,134 units.

In 2025, the following sectors made a significant positive contribution to economic growth, namely, information and communication, education, manufacturing, transport and warehousing, and financial and insurance activities.

The high economic growth in 2025 was supported by positive trends in foreign trade. In 2025, exports increased by 11.2 percent and reached a record amount of $7.3 billion. The growth of domestic exports (exports excluding re-exports) in 2025 amounted to 12.5 percent, and the volume reached $3.4 billion.

In 2025, revenues from travel (tourism) grew by 6.0 percent annually and reached a record volume of $4.7 billion.

The rating company Fitch’s upgrade of its outlook in November 2025 underscored the resilience of Georgia’s economy to external shocks. Based on the international financial institutions and rating companies, Georgia’s economy remained resilient as a result of sound macroeconomic policies.

According to the International Monetary Fund, Georgia will have the highest economic growth rate in the region and Europe in the medium term, averaging 5.1 percent, over the period 2026-2030.
