Georgian FM: Georgia and Armenia have the best relations nowadays

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Monday congratulated her Armenian colleagues on the Civil Contract party’s victory, expressing the Georgian Government’s willingness to have intensive contact and cooperation with them once the election process completed and the Government formed.

In her remarks, Botchorishvili emphasized that Georgia and Armenia had the best relations today.

“We congratulate them on their victory in the elections. The [Georgian] Prime Minister also congratulated Nikol Pashinyan on this victory. Of course, stability in our neighboring state and the stable development of our relations are important to us, first of all. Georgia and Armenia have the best relations nowadays. We cooperate in many directions, including on issues that are actively on the agenda of Armenia, including relations with the United States, relations with the European Union. This is the position of the Armenian Government, in this case, Nikol Pashinyan, that coordination and relations with Georgia are important for them, precisely in the context of these relations”, the FM said.

“Of course, we expect that in the near future, when the election process is completed and the Government is formed, we will again have intensive contact and cooperation with our Armenian colleagues, which is very important between the two countries, and we will continue to cooperate on all important issues that Georgia and Armenia need”, she concluded.
