Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Monday awarded Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze the First-Class Order of Honour of Kazakhstan, recognizing his contribution to deepening and developing bilateral relations.

Tokayev emphasised the fruitful cooperation with Georgia in various sectors and thanked the Prime Minister for his contribution to the development of relations.

“Under your strong leadership, Georgia is successfully implementing large-scale social and economic reforms; improving the well-being of all citizens, while strengthening its international position and enhancing its role as an important regional partner. It is truly impressive to see this distinctive path of development of your country. I am confident that Georgia will continue to successfully advance on the path of sustainable development in the future”, the President said.

“Kazakhstan considers Georgia to be a strong and successful state. Our countries have deep historical ties, common cultural values, and centuries-old traditions of friendship and mutual understanding. The Kazakh people have great respect for the Georgian people. We sincerely appreciate your rich history and unique culture. The Georgian diaspora is an integral part of the Kazakh public and is a living bridge connecting our countries”, he continued.

Tokayev emphasised the transition of bilateral relations to a new stage in recent years.

“Political dialogue has intensified, bilateral trade is steadily growing, and economic cooperation is expanding. Kazakhstan and Georgia also cooperate effectively in the international arena and consistently support each other on important international issues”, he added.

The President underscored the fruitful meeting with the Georgian Government head.

“We had a very fruitful meeting today. We reached important agreements aimed at further strengthening our bilateral relations. We paid special attention to the development of trade-economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Special attention was also paid to the implementation of joint projects in the sectors of energy, transport, industry, engineering and agriculture. All this creates a solid foundation for taking our bilateral relations to a new level”, he noted.

Tokayev further highlighted signing a joint agreement, on the basis of which relations between the two countries rose to the level of strategic partnership.

“This is truly a historic moment, and it is largely thanks to your active leadership and personal efforts that our countries have reached this important milestone. I would like to take this opportunity to once again express my sincere gratitude for your visit, for your time, and for your sincere commitment to further bringing our peoples closer together”, the President added.

“Mr. Kobakhidze, in recognition of your outstanding leadership and significant contribution to strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and Georgia, I have decided to award you with the First-Class Order of Honor. This award is a symbol of the close ties and growing partnership between our countries. Let this high state award be an expression of the deep respect of the people of Kazakhstan for the people of Georgia and a sign of my personal appreciation for you, Mr. Prime Minister”, he continued.

Kobakhidze thanked the Kazakh President for the award and expressed hope that raising bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership would bring even greater benefits and prosperity to both countries.

“Mr. President, we sincerely thank you for presenting the highest state award of Kazakhstan. This order marks the special friendship that exists between our two countries and peoples. We are proud of this strong friendship and partnership. We appreciate the close relations between our countries and peoples and are determined to do everything to further strengthen this friendship”, the PM said.

“We are connected by very good political relations. We thank you for your special personal contribution to the development of relations between Georgia and Kazakhstan”, he continued.

Kobakhidze emphasised that the Georgian Government would continue to do everything in its power to further strengthen and develop Georgia-Kazakhstan cooperation in all directions.

“Today is already a historic day for our bilateral relations. We have signed an agreement on strategic partnership between Georgia and Kazakhstan, which will raise cooperation between our countries to a qualitatively new level. Mr. President, thank you very much for your friendship, support and your country's strong desire to further deepen relations between Georgia and Kazakhstan”, he concluded.
