Tamar Ioseliani, the Georgian Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, on Sunday said that the development and success of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port depend on a properly planned master plan that would determine how to fully realise its potential as a major transport and logistics hub.
During a working visit to the Netherlands, Ioseliani held discussions with international consultants on updating the master plan for the Anaklia Deep Sea Port to ensure effective use of the allocated territory and alignment with market demands.
“Today, we met both with our consultant, who is working on updating the master plan for the Anaklia Deep Sea Port, and with the company that prepared the detailed design under which construction work is currently underway at the Anaklia Deep Sea Port to build the relevant breakwater and deepen the water to 18 meters”, she said.
The Deputy Minister emphasised the importance of adapting the port’s parameters to current and future market needs.
“We had very important discussions on how the existing master plan should be updated to ensure that the territory allocated for the Anaklia Port is used effectively and fully, and that its parameters are planned in a way that will ensure the port’s success and compliance with market demands”, Ioseliani noted.
“The development and success of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port depends on a properly planned master plan that will determine how to fully realise its potential as a transport and logistics hub”, she concluded.
