Georgian Economy Minister: Georgia-China partnership shows how close cooperation turns shared goals into reality

Georgian Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili on Saturday said that Georgia’s partnership with China demonstrates how close cooperation could transform shared goals into tangible results, as the two countries have established a joint working group on artificial intelligence under a signed memorandum.
Speaking at the High-Level Meeting on Global Governance of Artificial Intelligence in Shanghai, Kvrivishvili noted that the Georgia-China partnership was already delivering concrete initiatives.
“To deepen cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), we established a joint working group based on a memorandum signed between the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC)”, Kvrivishvili said.
The Minister emphasised that no country could fully realise the potential of artificial intelligence alone and that dialogue, trust, and international cooperation were essential.
“Our partnership with China is clear proof of how close cooperation can turn shared goals into real action. This cooperation once again reminds us of a fundamental reality: no country can realise the full potential of artificial intelligence on its own. Dialogue, trust, and international partnership are the foundation of responsible AI governance. The choices we make today will determine whether artificial intelligence becomes a dividing line for the world or a force that brings us even closer together”, she stressed.
She affirmed Georgia’s readiness to work closely with governments, industry and international partners to build a trustworthy, human-centered, and inclusive future for artificial intelligence.
“Georgia is ready to actively cooperate with governments, industry representatives, academia, and international partners to jointly create a trustworthy, human-centered, and inclusive future for artificial intelligence”, the Minister concluded.
