The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia’s Ministry of Infrastructure on Friday launched a tender for the design and construction of a state-of-the-art UEFA Category IV stadium in Tbilisi, designed to accommodate 70,000 spectators.

The multifunctional arena, to be located near the airport adjacent to the Lugar Research Centre, will host football and rugby matches, concerts, and other major local and international events, including UEFA Champions League matches.

The stadium complex will feature a public centre with conference and exhibition spaces, recreational areas, a museum, and commercial facilities.

To ensure accessibility, new transportation hubs will be developed to provide convenient travel options for visitors from across the city.

The infrastructure will be fully adapted for individuals with special needs, ensuring inclusivity.

Developed in collaboration with UEFA experts and international specialists, the project will benefit from expert involvement at every stage, from conceptual design to completion.

The tender’s technical specifications have been prepared with input from these professionals to meet the highest international standards.

The construction and operation of the stadium are expected to create significant job opportunities and stimulate the local economy by fostering growth in tourism, hospitality, and the service sector.

The arena is poised to become a leading platform for both sporting and cultural events in Georgia, enhancing the country’s global profile.
