Bidzina Ivanishvili says blackmail “against him, ruling party” has failed

Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and Honorary Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Monday said the blackmail against him and the ruling party had not worked.
In his interview with Imedi TV, Ivanishvili claimed the statements were basically “blackmail” and were coordinated by the Global War Party, which he described as “the patrons of our opposition”.
“I think that blackmail did not work, on the contrary - what I see while visiting the regions [of the country], the mobilisation is greater, the public is aware [of what is happening]”, Ivanishvili said.
He further added that the statements that were “incorrect and non-objective” were causing “public irritation”.
“[The public] is irritated by such statements, which are incorrect and very often, are beyond objectivity. It does not work and it will not work. What they wanted, in my opinion, produced the opposite outcome. As for punishment and sanctioning, I think that it also had the opposite outcome and didn't work, and won't work”, Ivanishvili said.
“Are we expecting anything more? Personally, I'm not waiting for anything more. I think that what they could do and what they wanted to do, they did it, it didn't work. I tell the public with absolute certainty that all of this had the opposite outcome for the elementary reason, because this was a blackmail based on non-objective information”, he concluded.
