Tamar Taliashvili, the Georgian Ambassador to the United States, on Thursday said Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili was participating in a ministerial meeting hosted by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, describing Georgia's participation in the event as significant.
In her remarks, Taliashvili noted that the ministerial, initiated and hosted by Rubio, aimed to bring together partner countries to strengthen cooperation against transnational political terrorism.
“Georgia's Foreign and Vice Prime Minister, Maka Botchorishvili, is participating in a ministerial initiative and hosted by the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The ministerial aims to unite partner countries in combating transnational political terrorism”, she said.
Taliashvili noted that around 60 countries were invited, and Georgia's participation in such a platform is important.
“It is also worth noting that the ministerial will focus on assessing this growing international challenge and on strengthening and deepening cooperation between the United States and its international partners”, Taliashvili concluded.
