Georgian PM meets Turkmen deputy PM to review ties, cooperation prospects

Relations and prospects for future cooperation between Georgia and Turkmenistan were discussed on Monday in a meeting between Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze and deputy chair of the cabinet of ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguli Ataguliev.
The parties also discussed various areas of bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
The officials emphasised that Georgia-Turkmenistan cooperation has reached a qualitatively new level, and high-level visits contribute to further strengthening these ties.
The meeting also focused on trade and economic relations and the cooperation in agriculture and tourism. The current situation in the region was also reviewed.
The parties also emphasised Turkmenistan’s efforts to strengthen peace and stability in the Central Asia region. The officials further discussed the necessity of pursuing such a policy for the sustainable development of the region.
