Georgian, Kazakh FMs discuss strengthening bilateral ties

Georgian foreign minister Maka Botchorishvili on Tuesday met with her Kazakh counterpart Yermek Kosherbayev to discuss bilateral and multilateral cooperation, with particular focus on strengthening trade and economic ties and advancing joint work on the Middle Corridor.

During the discussions, the officials highlighted the importance of deepening relations and maintaining active diplomatic engagement through official visits.

A significant part of the conversation focused on enhancing trade and economic cooperation.

Particular attention was given to collaboration on the development of the Middle Corridor, a strategic transport route connecting Europe and Asia, where both countries play an important role.

At the end of the meeting, the ministers signed a cooperation programme for 2026–2027 between their respective foreign ministries, outlining future areas of collaboration.
